Been Where??
My folks may be askin’ where I’ve been. Some of them may not may not even care, but hell, ya’ll still my folks. So for those who want to know and those who don’t’give a shit, here’s the business.
I’ve been off-line for quite awhile. I usually post poetry on Written Images, The Black Poetry Café, Realistic Illusions, as well as The Source Network. I’ve been out in real space, not cyber space handlin’ business of a family’s nature.
For those who are unaware, my father passed October 7, 2005. Allow me to stop here and let all know that my father was A MAN. He was there each and every day for my sister, my mother, and me. He was a Jr. High School Principal for 20 years and the man believed in discipline. That’s why I had no problem dropping everything in my life to be by his side in his final hours. Family meant a lot to him and it means a lot to me. One luv out to my auties, uncles, and all the cousins that I got all over the world; and I mean those Barbee’s, Anderson’s, Abdulla’s, Coe’s, Stoddard’s, and all of ya’ll, you know the bloodline, if you ain’t trippin’ then neither am I—ONE LUV.
So with that being said, I had to handle some family business in Omaha, South Carolina, and Chicago…yea a poet’s name is Nabraska and that’s where I’m from so don’t trip when I give my shout outs to the North Side, because them folks support ya boy, and I don’t know what I would do without them.
On the subject of family, allow me to acknowledge my poetic family in Omaha, the dj’s, the poets, slammers, comedians, hosts, musicians, ceo’s, producers, filmmakers, and all of you who held me down when I was in the O and hold me down when I stop thru. You have always supported what I say on the mic and make a brotha feel like he is somebody, even if his esteem ain’t feelin’ it that day/night.
So some of you are like, what the hell is this poet on—some type of shout out blog or somethin’…yes, and no. Understand that whatever you do, you cannot do it without the support of others, so you must respect that for one, and acknowledge it when you get a chance.
So to my online peoples. My Written Imager’s, my BPC’ers, my folks out there listenin’ to Spokenrythmz, Da’ Nawlins’ Groove, Eadon’s Place, Low Key Radio, and other spots, I ain’t forgot about you, I still got luv, even if some don’t!! I’m tryin’ to get back to makin’ it do what it do. I’ve hooked up with some real azz poets/people. My fam, Starr Lisa has started an booking agency to assist some poets and artist who have the rhythm and rhyme, but not necessarily the time. And you can check her out on myspace.com. So if you got my email blast a few weeks back and you don’t know what the hell it was all about check out the page and dig the info!!!
Another reason that a brotha has been MIA (not Miami but I’m hopin’ to get there soon) is I am starting a cd duplication service which will help poets/artist print their cd’s in a high quality and respectable fashion instead of using the sticky labels. (Yea I’ve used them too, but it’s time we step our game up fam) So be on the lookout for that information because that will be in effect real soon!!
If you are reading this and you have never met me, and only know me through the poetry, then get with someone who knows me if you’re unsure about the business, hit the top friends on the myspace page and they’ll let you know the business. And if they steer you left, then holla at me directly, I don’t play games people.
The next project that I am working on will be a book!! YES DAMMIT A BOOK!! And for all my illiterate peoples of the world, learn to read, there will be good reading in the book for beginning poets and seasoned poets, and for people who don’t know a damn thang about poetry, but will enjoy, so lookout for that!!

I will be letting you folks know about some of my closest homies…TLem aka DJ Scottie Pimpin, Eryk Moore aka Werdsmyth, Starr Lisa and The Starr Chamber, the trip to Baltimore, Birthday Bash, along with Black August in Omaha Nebraska. So stayed tuned if you don’t know who these folks are, and if you know them, then definitely be on the lookout, because we bringin’ heat for the beef, and real spoken truth for the streets.
